Breaking Stigma, Building Strength: Highlights from Our Workshop at IPT

At Dhruti Charitable Trust, we believe that mental health support should be accessible, practical and free of stigma. On July 20, 2026, we took another step forward in this mission by hosting a dedicated mental wellness workshop for 80 first-year students at the Institute of Printing Technology (IPT), Taramani, Chennai.

Titled “Therapy is a Tool: Breaking Stigma, Building Strength,” the session was facilitated by Mr. Rojaram and designed specifically to help young adults navigate the transition into college life.

Key Highlights of the Session:

Over the course of 75 minutes, the interactive workshop provided students with a safe, open environment to discuss emotional well-being.

  • Demystifying Therapy: The session framed therapy not as a last resort, but as a practical tool for personal growth, self-awareness, and resilience.

  • Practical Coping Strategies: Students were introduced to daily self-care techniques and actionable stress-management frameworks.

  • Open Dialogue: Through interactive exercises, participants shared their perspectives and reduced the hesitation often associated with seeking help.

Impact & Student Feedback:

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Key outcomes reported include:

  • Reduced Stigma: Increased comfort with the concept of professional counselling and seeking help.

  • Actionable Takeaways: High satisfaction with practical self-care and stress-busting strategies.

  • Increased Confidence: Enhanced confidence in managing personal emotional well-being and academic pressure.

  • Overall Rating: Rated as an Outstanding and highly engaging session.
