The Dhruti PEERS Program
Students Supporting Students for Mental Well-Being ( Peer Engagement for Emotional Resilience & Support )
The Dhruti PEERS Program is a structured, student-led initiative designed to cultivate a supportive, inclusive, and emotionally resilient campus environment. By strengthening the role of peer-to-peer support, we ensure that student interactions around mental well-being are guided, responsible, and empathetic.
What Does a Dhruti Saathi Do?
Through structured training with Dhruti professionals, our Saathis are equipped to:
- Be a Safe Space: Provide empathetic, active listening and immediate peer support.
- Spot the Signs: Identify early indicators of emotional distress and offer compassionate guidance.
- Break the Stigma: Champion mental health awareness and encourage proactive help-seeking behavior among the student body.
- Lead the Charge: Organize and lead campus wellness initiatives, workshops, and awareness programs focused on emotional regulation and resilience.
- Bridge the Gap: Act as a vital link between students and institutional authorities or Dhruti professionals.
- Ensure Safety & Ethics: Maintain strict confidentiality and seamlessly guide peers toward professional mental health support using established referral protocols.
Program Highlights
- Active Campus Engagement: Saathis lead monthly mental health awareness activities to spark open conversations, normalize emotional struggles, and actively reduce stigma within the student body.
- Continuous Expert Mentorship: Saathis are never alone in their role. They receive ongoing, real-time mentorship and support from Dhruti’s trained mental health professionals, including a dedicated WhatsApp channel for immediate guidance.
- Zero Cost to Institutions: The entire PEERS program—from training to ongoing support—is implemented at absolutely no cost to the partnering college or university.
- Leadership Certification: Upon successfully completing one year of engagement, Dhruti Saathis receive an official certificate, recognizing their leadership, empathy, and positive impact on campus culture.
The First Line of Support
While a Dhruti Saathi is never a substitute for a professional counselor, they are a crucial first line of emotional support. They ensure that no student has to struggle in silence, guiding their peers toward the professional support systems they need to thrive.
